The Tapiola Choir tours abroad every year, and in addition to concerts these include an educational dimension.

The worldwide growth of the children’s and youth choir movement has generated an ever-growing need for education and training. This applies to both singers and choir conductors. Both the domestic and foreign tours of the Tapiola Choir include — usually at the request of the tour organizers — seminars, demonstrations, workshops and courses for choir conductors.

Former conductors Kari Ala-Pöllänen and Professor Erkki Pohjola, the founder of the Choir, tour widely around the world lecturing about the education and teaching methods employed in the Tapiola Choir.
